Weekend News

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the club with one or two social events (and a bit of bike riding in between) …

Great turnout for the club’s spring curry night at Verandah with the longest table we’ve managed to date. Thanks to our social secretary for organising the table, which just kept growing as the evening continued!!!

The club organised trip to The Tour of Flanders (Ronde van Vlaanderen) was a great success with a dozen or so members either riding the very well organised sportive the day before the race or spectating.
The sportive distance varied from 75 to 230 km and was a challenge over the cobbled sectors and short but steep climbs.
Post ride refreshments and sight-seeing were hugely enjoyed by all 🙂
The club will be back in 2018!

Talking of climbs – The Club’s Chairman hands over the Harp Hilly Hundred shield once again to the Town’s Mayor for display in the Council Conference Room. An outstanding result with 54 Club riders participating in the HH100, it’s the third win on the trot for us. Chapeau to the BCC riders who participated in the event. The Mayor also drew the ballot for two lucky club riders that received a charity entry into the 2017 Prudential London.
