Do you have to have a road bike to join?
We do ask that all members ride a road bike as standard, yes.
How do I go about joining BCC?
Please come for a trial ride – we’d love to see you on a Saturday morning ride. You get the chance to meet other members and we can assess which group you would be most suitable in (there are 5+ groups).
For more information on trial rides click here.
If you are thinking of coming on a trial ride and the weather conditions are forecast to be very bad (below freezing temperature, high winds or very heavy rain) please check our public Facebook page here or email our rider coordinator here as there are occasional changes made to the ride time or cancellations.
There are details of how to join the club in our Club Membership pages. They are –

Do you need to wear reflective clothing?
Reflective clothing is not compulsory, but we do advise that it is a useful, especially in the darker months of winter. Please do think about what you wear – we want everyone to be safe out there on the roads.

Yes – helmets are compulsory for all members. You can read the other rules we ask all our members to adhere to in the ride etiquette which is on the them’s-the-rules page here.
